Jason Christopher is a local filmmaker and frequent Tunes customer from Sicklerville, NJ. I had the chance to pick his brain about his new film, Down The Road, what he’s been listening to, and what his favorite films are.

Which Tunes store do you usually shop at?
Turnersville…sometimes Vorhees.

Do you usually shop for CDs, DVDs, or records?
Blu-rays and CDs…sometimes random cool stuff.

What’s your most recent “good find” at Tunes?
Rear Window framed poster.

What have you been listening to lately?
A lot of rap and a lot of rock, I’ve been going back and forth: “Watch The Throne,” 30 Seconds To Mars, HIM, Adele, Yelawolf, The Sounds.

Any movie recommendations?
The Innkeepers (VOD), super good ghost flick.

Any fond Tunes memories?
I don’t really recall the first time I went to Tunes. But the CD I do remember first buying at Tunes was, Metallica – St. Anger. I regret that purchase. The first DVD I ever purchased from Tunes was I know What You Did Last Summer and The Amityville Horror (original) Still own them! They were like a buck a piece. That’s when I fell in love with Tunes.

You made a movie recently, what’s it about?
Down The Road is about a group of college students escaping their troubled lives but only to find from their lives by a revenge seeking madman. It’s an homage flick.

How long did it take you to make?
12 long 18 hour days.

What’s the status of it – still in theaters? Coming soon to DVD?
We’re currently shopping it around to distributors. We’re still screening it wherever possible though.

What films inspired it?
Black Christmas (1974), Friday The 13th 1 & 3, Maniac, Halloween (78). A lot of 70′s and 80′s horror flicks. It’s really an homage film. A big thank you to the genre I remember renting when I was 6 or 7 at Blockbuster in the 90′s. 90′s horror flicks were dead.

How can someone see it?
No one can really see it right now. I’m working on setting up a few more screenings, locally. Or you’re going to have to try and catch it when it plays at a festival. Looking for a few more in the beginning of this year though. You can hop on youtube.com and type in Down The Road trailer and it pops right up. (Or, click here)
Are you working on a follow up?
I’m writing a new script. Taking my time with it. Almost done. Just making sure it’s good. A lot of critics weren’t all for my writing as opposed to everything else. So I want to just prove them wrong. It was an homage horror movie. Are any of those scripts amazing?
